Cherry Jubilee
Such a fun name for a fun soap. I would love to say that the idea came from the great French chef Auguste Escoffier who created cherries jubilee in honor of Queen Victoria. It was created to celebrate the 50th year of her reign, or golden jubilee. In reality, it stems from my childhood memories of watching classic movies with my dad. We would watch any number of classic, action, and military movies on the weekend. Some of my favorites were the musicals and Elvis Presley movies never disappointed. Clambake was and is one of my favorite movies and there was a scene where Bill Bixby talked about Cherry Jubilee as a dessert. When I smelled this fragrance it immediately took me back to the fun times with my dad and his love of classic movies.
The scent is a nutty cherry aroma with top notes of juicy cherry, wild raspberries, and sweet almonds, followed by mid notes of mimosa flower, rose petals, and cinnamon; sitting on well grounded base notes of vanilla and Tonka beans.
INGREDIENTS
Saponified Olive oil, Coconut oil, Shea butter, Avocado oil, Castor oil, Distilled water, Sodium hydroxide (lye), Cherry Almond fragrance oil, Sodium lactate, Sugar, White kaolin clay, Berry Twist mica and Brown bronze mica.
MAKING COLD PROCESS SOAP
Each soap bar is made in small batches using the cold process method. Each bar is cured for at least 6 weeks to ensure a long lasting bar. In the cold process method sodium hydroxide (lye) is used to turn oils into soap. When fats in the oils and the lye go through a process called saponification. Once the saponification process is completed, there will be no lye present in the final product.
INPUTS
Each bar is packed full of skin loving ingredients, including butters. We never use palm oil, which has been linked to massive deforestation, habitat degradation, climate change, and contributing to the loss of Orangutans and Sumatran tigers. Many traditional soaps use this ingredient. We believe in making the most ethical choices for our planet to keep Earth and those we share it with healthy.
USE
Our soaps are intended to be used on your body and hands. Handmade soap will not leave your skin feeling dry or itchy after a shower. You can either use the bar on a loofah or washcloth for about 10 seconds to get a rich creamy lather. Using this method will make your soap last longer.
SOAP CARE
Be sure to keep your soap dry in between use. Make sure it sits in a dish that has proper drainage and is not directly under your shower stream. Due the nature of the soap, allowing it to sit in water will lessen it’s life.
